It's Not Enough to Know For Yourself

When it comes to reading labels on food and doing research to find out what a prescription is made of it's not enough to just do it for yourself.

For years now, I have been cautious when shopping for groceries. I read the labels to ensure there are no chemicals and read the bar codes to find out if the food has been genetically altered, irradiated or organic. I have researched to find out what ingredients truly are and if its good to consume or just to use such as lotions, soaps, etc.

I really wanted a truth in labeling act or some such thing so that consumers would be warned of what was in the products that are offered for sale.

Honestly, would anyone eat a lemon that was dunked in gasoline to improve its color? Or use lotion with gasoline in it? Would anyone eat food that has a chemicals proven to create cancer?

The questions above may sound pretty silly because the answer would be "no" for each one - however, that is what you will find in a local grocery store.

Would you take a drug that has been proven to alter your mind that gives you permanent brain damage? Would you give that to a child?

And how about health care - what if we had a system that validated healthy people instead of a system that has "incurable" illnesses that are only treatable with a prescription maintenance system?

I was very glad today to find out that there is a petition online to repair the above situations so that we not only have a healthy country of citizens but also to set the example for the other countries on this planet.

Please take the time to read and sign the petition at http://ping.fm/NSGjy

Once done, please forward to your friends and family. This may be one of the MOST important petitions that you ever sign! 8)
