Hot off the brush - "Guardians in the Woods" was completed this past sunday!

In Phoenix, Arizona there was an Indian Tribe called
the Hohokam. There aren't Hohokam Indians now -
either the tribe went extinct because of prolonged
draught or merged with another local tribe or both.

This painting is in Honor of the Hohokam Indians as
their location was in the south Scottsdale/north
Tempe area of today's modern Phoenix metro city.

At first what meets the eye in the painting is that
it is a picture of trees/woods - but, of course, I
added the special touches! If you look (and perhaps
look again) there are indians moving and wild
animals in the painting - the Guardians in the
Woods.

A recent comment "I looked at it a long
time. First the animals showed up and then the shy
Indians came to life peering at me from the woods.
They are curious, aren't they?" G.A.
